OUR MIXERS

Sekforde started with a question - why, given what goes into creating a spirit have we never created sodas specifically for mixing? This is what we set out to change.

SICILIAN ORANGE, ROSEMARY &
GENTIAN 
SODA

Pairs perfectly with whisky and bourbon

A sparkling blend of Sicilian orange, rosemary and gentian botanical extracts. The toasted grain sweetness of whisky is rounded out with the warm and rich Sicilian orange, while the spicy oak cask finish is lengthened by a unique blend of dry bitters - rosemary and gentian.

Our inspiration: Orange features in many classic whisky cocktails, it is a beautiful pairing which has stood the test of time. The same is true of gentian bitters used in world famous cocktails like the Old Fashioned. When mixed, they work in harmony to complement whisky and bourbon.

RASPBERRY, ROSE
& SAGE SODA

Pairs perfectly with gin and vodka

A sparkling blend of raspberry, rose and sage botanical extracts. Soft sweetness from aromatic raspberry and rose balanced with a silvery hint of sage on the finish. Complements gin’s juniper notes and vodka’s crystalline purity.

Our inspiration: A complex and delicate alternative to tonic with flavours inspired by the flowers and herbs you find in a classic English country garden where gin and vodka are frequently enjoyed.

PRICKLY PEAR, FIG & CARDAMOM SODA

Pairs perfectly with tequila and mezcal

A sparkling blend of prickly pear, fig and cardamom botanical extracts. Prickly pear and fig deliver understated honeyed notes, complementing the smoky sweetness in agave based spirits. While cardamom layers with the spicier finish unique to tequila and mezcal.

Our inspiration: What grows together goes together!   Prickly Pear cactus and fig trees always grow alongside the amazing agave plants from which tequila and mezcal are made. When mixed, they work in harmony to create a delicious flavour.

LIME, MINT & CACAO SODA

Pairs perfectly with light and spiced rum

A sparkling blend of lime, mint and cacao botanical extracts. Lime and mint extracts give a fresh, sophisticated edge to the rounded sweetness of rum, while the finish is lengthened with Ecuadorian cacao bitters.

Our inspiration: The classic Mojito. It's hard to deny, lime and mint are rum’s perfect partners. Cacao then adds a light chocolatey depth and satisfying finish to this combo. When mixed, it’s been compared to a spritz twist on a classic mojito. Try it yourself.

THE BEST IDEAS ARE
OFTEN BORN OUT OF FRUSTRATION

Sekforde was born out of Talula’s mission to enjoy long drinks with her favourite spirits. She felt the market was missing lighter, fresher options that complemented and lengthened rather than overpowered them.

Given the skill and craft that goes into creating spirits, when she thought about it, mixing with standard soft drinks suddenly seemed madness.

Why have we never created mixers specifically tailored for mixing?

So, she started with the spirit and dreamed up sodas crafted to enhance and complement them. Inspiration came from classic cocktails and the origins of the spirits themselves.

Sekforde is the world’s first and only range of 100% natural botanical mixers specifically crafted to unlock the flavour and enjoyment of your favourite spirits.

And the name - what’s the story?

When the business first started Talula lived on Sekforde St in Farringdon. Given this was where it all began it seemed a fitting name. It’s also a street full of history, and even appears in several Charles Dickens novels! When it comes to pronunciation think ‘Sek - Ford’ (ignore the ‘e’ on the end)

The Sekforde perfect serve is simple: just treat it like your best G&T.

 

Fill your glass with ice

Add 25ml or 50ml of your chosen spirit

Top with Sekforde

 

Our recommended garnishes are:

Orange for whisky and bourbon

Lime (& mint if you fancy it) for rum

Pink grapefruit or raspberries for gin or vodka

Pear or pink grapefruit for tequila and mezcal

Although we spent many a pleasurable hour tailoring our Sekforde mixers to their related spirits, everyone’s tastes are unique, so please don’t be afraid to experiment! If you want to add an aperitif like Campari or vermouth to make a spritz, go ahead. Or why not enjoy them soft! We’d love to hear how you get on.
